National Road Festival

Father's Day Weekend in June (June 19, 2010)

This festival held downtown Martinsville highlights the history of U.S. 40 which was built on the National Road. The main street in Martinsville is called Cumberland Street after the historic road. The festival includes flea and farmer markets, crafts, food and live entertainment.

Farmer's Markets

The third Saturday of every month from June through October, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

At these markets held downtown Martinsville, you will find homegrown products and hand-made crafts.

Countywide 4-H Barbeque & Harvest Festival

The Saturday after Labor Day

A day of city wide garage sales, flea market and craft show. Live entertainment in the evening. Bring your lawn chair and your appetite downtown Martinsville and enjoy the day! Serving for 4-H Barbecue is 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Martinsville Agricultural Fair

July 4- 10, 2010

The Martinsville Agricultural Fair features afternoons of thoroughbred and harness racing, with the Great Midwest Trot and Pace on Thursday at 1 p.m. and thoroughbred racing on Friday at 1 p.m. Entertainment is provided each evening, and visitors can enter their special projects for prizes. All ages are eligible to enter and entries range from produce, food, hobbies, and crafts to elementary science projects. This year, two Christian bands will be performing on Monday July 5 at 6 p.m.: Jars of Clay and Needtobreathe. For more info on the concerts, visit www.elevatemartinsville.com.
